Hi i have a dermatologist appointment in 3 weeks and before going i would like to ask a question on a treatment i heard from a friend. I dont know the name of the treatment but by the way it was explained to me it used cold oxygen to treat the acne and push it out. It was leave the area bruised for about 2 days but the worse it gets the better is had worked. Then all that is to be done is wipe the ance away. Can you please give me more information of this process and if you could the exact name of the treatment. Thank you.Hi i have a question about an oxygen treatment for acne?

Does this sound like a good homemade treatment for acne-prone skin?
I don't know the proper ratios yet, but this is my idea... What do you think of it?
Aloe Vera gel
Tea Tree oil
apple cider vinegar or rosewater (which one is better?)
an aspirin tabletDoes this sound like a good homemade treatment for acne-prone skin?
You are on the right track here. The tea tree oil, vinager/rosewater, and asprin have all been shown to improve and clarify skin. I think these three are great!
BUT...Aloe Vera gel can clog pores and make things worse. I learned this from personal experience.
If you have no reaction to aloe vera gel then you should go for it :) Sounds good!
Just start out with small amounts and work up :)Does this sound like a good homemade treatment for acne-prone skin?
no. you're not a scientist.... get something that is already made.
*edit*
do not fool around with making these products yourself. you most likely don't understand the chemistry of the things you're mixing together and how they react when mixed, and what they can do to your skin. you'll waste a lot more money if you have to go to the doctor for causing yourself an infection, lesions, burns, or worse.
Aloe Vera and Tea Tree oil = oily skin. What causes acne? Oil + clogged pores.
Vinegar = dry skin
Aspirin = Zero results
You would do well to go to the pharmacy and buy a good acne treatment and forget your ';witches brew.';
not rlly
but idk
give it a try :D

Do any of the so-called ';overnight'; acne/spot treatments actually work overnight?
I want to know which ones are actually worth buying as many that promise to dry up spots overnight actually take up to a week.Do any of the so-called ';overnight'; acne/spot treatments actually work overnight?
Don't bother with products, if you can't pronounce the ingredients, it is most likely bad for you in the long run. Try this:
Take a lemon and slice it into fourths. Go and steam your face to open up your pores. Then take the lemon and rub it ALL OVER your face. It will most likey sting a little bit, or a lot if you have sensetive skin. This is like your own safe chemical peel, because there is a lot of harmless acid in lemons. This acid will get rid of the dirt in your pores and cleanse them out. It will also get rid of the bacteria in the actual pimple. I cannot guarentee you that in 1 night the pimple will be gone, but it WILL help.
Remember to put the lemon EVERYWHERE! Even where there isn't a pimple, your pores will be cleaned out VERY well. It some lemon pulp comes off onto your face, don't worry, it is for the best!Do any of the so-called ';overnight'; acne/spot treatments actually work overnight?
Not really... at least not the ones i have tried! Maybe some of the expensive ones work thays why they're expensive.
The best cure for Acne is the sun. Go sunbathing and get brown, it will go away then.
You might get skin cancer, but thats the way the cookie crumbles
i found that the only things that work for acne are pills from the hospital in otherwords prescription drugs which are monitered very closely with blood tests etc.
Save your money and dab on some toothpaste before going to bed.
NO !!
They all take a few days.
Use Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser
daily to prevent acne.
I use a little tube of Neutrogena stuff that's called ';On The Spot Acne Treatment.'; It works very quickly for me! I put it on the acne spots overnight, and it is visibly reduced in the morning. I think it is impossible for it to completely disappear, but it really works well. I also heard that putting eyedrop solution on zits can help to reduce the redness. I have never tried it, but it may work...
I tried Pro-Active and it didn't work good. I got it cause i am pregnant and getting zits bad! I switched to Clean and Clear, and my face is doing a LOT better.
Some greatly improve the 'spot' but doesn't just make it go way completly. You have to just try everything, and find out what will work for you. Try the cheep stuff, sometimes it works better.
try using proactive
Clean and Clear overnight acne medicine works VERY well. It may not shrink the pimple completely in one night, but it does make it considerably smaller. Trust me. What makes it work even better is after washing your face, use a toner followed with alcohol over the pimple. That adds an extra drying effect. After the toner and alcohol, dab on the clean and clear. When you wake up, the pimple will be gone or considerably smaller. I always use it at the first sign of a pimple. The ones I treat right away are the ones that go away overnight. BTW you can also wear it under your make-up. It's absolutely clear and forms a layer over the pimple so makeup or facial lotions don't penetrate it. Trust me girl. You will thank me in the morning!
i find that a little tube from superdrugs clarity range works fantastically and reduces my spots quicker than anything else i have tried usally 2-3 days. costs about 拢2.99
i dunno of anything quicker but drinking lots of what helps and so does eating less junk food.
Hi i havent found any that work over night, i find these make the spot worse. But obviously if you have acne then the doctor would prescribe something for you to use. But if its the odd pimple nothing works. I usually put purfume on it as it dries them up but stings.
The other week i bought boots no7 calm and concel one end is a treatment stick for blemished and the other end is a concealer. It does reduce spots but they still dont just dissapear. Also boots own make of spot contol stuff is quite good i bought a body scrub for 拢1.49 and just rub a small amount on the spots and this morning they werent as red and dried up and not affected my skin.
try proactive. It helped my mom and my brother, and they had acne all over their face.
Oxy 10 makes a big difference but it does take about 3 days. Don't overuse it as it can make your sore if you do.
No they don't. They all take a few days to start working.
Put toothpaste on spots..it is just as effective and dries them out just as effectively...that's not a joke!

Is there a suitable 'over the counter' treatment for Acne ?
Hi, I'm 29 with an odd acne problem, I've been diagnosed by a doctor and have several different treatments which included 'Betnovate' cream in two differnt varients, some antibiotic tablet (cant remember the name) and now I've been given Lymecycline. Luckily the acne is not on my face or arms, but on my legs so its quite easy to cover up! Is there anything I could try thats available over the counter that could help, or has anyone else experienced these problems and knows how to help?Is there a suitable 'over the counter' treatment for Acne ?
I use Panoxyl Aqua gel 10. It makes the spots worse when you first use it, but it has cleared mine up very well. It works by drying up the spots. It makes the skin peel for a short while, but this soon clears up. It bleaches clothes, so put it on half an hour before going to bed.Is there a suitable 'over the counter' treatment for Acne ?
Panoxyl and Duac are both very good, i think you need a prescription for them though

Whats the best cleanser or spot treatment for acne?
I’ve been breaking out latly and i think it might be my cleanser,, i really need help finding a good one that actually works?
Have you found any that have really helped???
I seriously need one!! I have tried EVERYTHINGGGG clean and clear, spectro, aveeno,
I’ve never tried Neutrogena or st.ives
Are they any good
Pleaselet me know as much as possible thx a lot byeWhats the best cleanser or spot treatment for acne?
Neutrogena ia great but it depends on your skin type. Like I have combination skin and I use the Oil-Free Cleanser and Scrub. But I think right now, you need to look for something that says ';gentle'; (which is what the one I use says). But you also need an exfoliater because the breakouts could be due to buildup on the skin. If you do decide to use the oil-free products like i do, get the orange one and not the pink grapefruit. the orange kind is genteler than the pink though they both are Neutrogena.

Adult Acne....Best remedy/treatment????????
I am a female in my late 30's but my skin is starting to look like that of a teenager! I never had acne this bad or painful before...mild breakouts when a teen, but never like this. I have red, sore lumps, no white-heads. Serious answers only please, as this is painful enough..... Thanks.Adult Acne....Best remedy/treatment????????
I'm also 30 with adult acne. I know what you mean. I have PCOS and its one of the symptoms of the disease. I just try and deal but support is helpful.
I would go to dailystrength.com or webmd.com and they can give you better answers than I. I'm in several forums there at dailystrength, but not in that one at this time. If you go to dailystrength go to the communitties and stroll down. It will also provide you with doctors in that field to ask questions to for free. The site is a life saver for me and I have met some very nice, responsible people there!! If you go to webmd, just type it in and it will give a list of meds to ask for or answers to ask your doctor. Hope this helps. I'm currently on no meds, I just watch what I eat, and keep my face cleaner than the average person. Also, don't wear alot of makeup and if you do be sure and wash it off everynight before bed. I know you probably do but some don't. Keep me posted on what you thought and the outcomes of your acne. God Bless.Adult Acne....Best remedy/treatment????????

To start off with, never use harsh products on acne, it will only irritate it more. My suggestion is to use more gentler products.
I鈥檝e used stuff from proactive, acnefree, medicated cleansers, expensive department store stuff like sheseido, differin, duac, etc. none of them worked very well for me. Most of them made my skin worse.
Once a week, you should use a facial masque that will suck out all of the oils and impurities from your skin. The one that I use is called ';Queen Helene Mint Julep'; and let me tell you, this stuff is amazing! I buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply for about 5 dollars for a huge tub of it. This stuff lasts me about 1 1/2 years.
Every morning I wash my face with a clarifying cleanser that I purchase at www.ifeelpretty.com
This cleanser is VERY gentle, and works amazingly, I love it.
For on the spot treatment, (AKA, for a pimple that you need to get rid of FAST, use the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque on your pimple overnight, then wash off in the morning, and it will be reduced tremendosly
The last and most important thing, is to MOISTURIZE! This is a personal preference of coarse, but for me, I use Olay moisturizers, they are cheap and work.
Hope this helps!
If it is adult acne usually it is caused by a hormone imbalance or it may be stress related or a number of things.
If you never really had acne as a teenager you may have some built up impurities that come from foods, the air you breathe, or just about anything you put into your body.
I would consider an all natural oral medication that works from the inside and see if that helps.
Good luck
if it hurts so bad then you should go see a dermatologist...if they say its just acne then do not go ahead and get a prescription from them..id try proactive before paying for expensive prescriptions..if you havent seen the commercials let me just go ahead and tell you proactive works really well and fast..my brother used it..i know a lot of people who do use it now..and even kelly clarkson and jessica simpson used it..if that doesnt work then go back to your doctor and try their medicine..
o also..have you been eating really unhealthily lately? a change in diet? not washitn your face? all of those things can cause breakouts..so consider that before getting treatment
If it is bad as you say then I would definitely just go to my local dermatologist (during skin reaction so he can see it) %26amp; tell him how your skin is behaving. It could even be your hormones (there's a pill for that too)but first I would see if he can give you some type of lotion/med. for your skin %26amp; if that doesn't work maybe you can move on to something stronger.
If this is ';not'; something you want to do then you can also try going to a local Day spa for monthly facials.
Apply moisturer and cleanse it.
Wash your affected areas with cold water.
Apply aloe vera gel and do a slow massage.
Apply Witch hazel, rosewater or even jasmine water.
Cream for skin and body would be fine.
Next:
Change your diet.
Eat more fruits and vegetables
with loads of tofu, bean-curds and fibre.
Drink lots of water.
Cleanse your body by either steaming, detoxification
or exercise.

I really think that you should consider using proactive. I also have problem skin and honestly it is the ONLY thing that has worked for me. I have spent countless dollars with over the counter products and none have worked. Try their website. I have been ordering it for three years and it is wonderful. Also it wouldn't hurt to drink more water. Hope everything works out well.
