Hi

Sometimes the best answer for how to treat baby acne is to ...have patience. Many newborns will close their pimples within two weeks, perhaps a little longer. It is vital that you keep you baby's face clean and to not apply moisturizer or any other acne treatment medications that you have used for yourself. These types of medications are much too strong and can cause irritation to an infant's skin.

Many people may be concerned at first sight of the rash-like appearance. You may even be tempted to take your baby to the doctor to find an acne baby treatment. The reality is that there really isn't any medication for blemishes that is safe for using on a baby's delicate skin.

If you have kept your child clean and laundered their clothes and blankets properly and the problem hasn't gotten better, then it may be something else. There are many different types of skin rashes that are more predominant in babies than in adults, which means if it doesn't look like tiny pimples, then it is best to get it checked by a doctor just to be safe.

You may be concerned about how to treat baby acne, but the only medicine is patience and cleanliness. An acne baby treatment more than likely will never be prescribed because as of today, there isn't a market for such medications. Baby acne may be a nuisance, but it will most certainly go away within a few weeks.

I had this issue with one of mine. Leave it alone, don't pop or pick, it wil spread and make it so much worse. i switched my baby wash to baby aveeno and also used a small amount of aveeno baby lotion but that didn't work so I used aveeno wash with a small amount of cortizone and I mean small small amount, less than pea sized and it worked wonders. took about 10 days to go away. This is normal for nb's and it wil go away even if you don't do anything for it. It bothers us more than them.
OMG! My 5month old son went thru the same thing when he was 3-4 weeks old. I felt so bad for him. I got scared because I didn't know what it was so I took him to see his Doctor and she was like ';oh, nothing to worry. It's just baby acne. It's typical for baby at this age to start having the breakout';. So, she prescribed Hydrocortisone 2x/day and said to alternate it with either Aquaphor or Ecurine. She I use Aquator because it's thicker (like vaseline but better). The hydrocortisone cleared the acne with just one application. But I found out later that when I stop using it (even for 1 day or 2) the syptom comes back. I try not to use it so much because it is medication so when I see it is clear, I skip a day and use the Aquaphor. So, no he has beautiful baby skin on his face :-). I use Aquaphor on his whole body, not just his face because it still has small rashes here and there and it helps.

So, take him to his Doctor. Good luck and don't worry. If my baby can beautiful skin now (from what he had earlier), yours will too.
Wash your newborns face with mild soap or just water that is all you can do this is very common in babies its called baby acne and it will go away on its own. Also do NOT put lotion or anything in that sort on there face it will make it alot worse. Just let it be it will go away soon.
well this site says a lot about baby acne and i think it is very helpful. it says to just wipe it with a cloth that has been washed in mild detergent. dampen the cloth and put a little bit of mild soap on it, not too much though because it may dry it out more. also, do not scrub the face. if his/her face is sensitive just use warm water.
My son was the same way when he was born.

They told me to use corn starch on him like baby powder.

I would rub it into his skin.

That helped.

Also, purchase that baby aveno bath wash and lotion for dry skin.

That helped a bunch too.

It will eventually go away.

Good luck and I hope that this helps you some.
just let it run its course. My little one had it for about a month and then it just cleared up on its own. When I bathed her, I used a wash cloth with no soap to wash her face.
You just have to let it run it's course. Don't use any oils or creams on her face. Just wash with mild baby soap once a day. You could even just use a baby wipe that has no scents or dyes.
time. nothing but time. it will be gone sooner than you think. likely in a week or two.
