Clean and Clear has helped my 'sudden' pimple..
Look for acne products that include the active ingredient Benzoyl, many products just use sacrylic acid which isn't nearly as effective in most cases. If you are going to a doctor anytime soon I recommend getting a prescription for a topical medicine called Benzaclin, it has been the most effective treatment in my case after a few applications at night.
personally i like Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Control: Spot Treatment. (i have never tried oxy but i have tried Clearasil and i find that their products make me break out more)
but what i do is i clean my face and stuff then at night i put on one layer of the spot treatment and then once it dries i put another layer on. i do that about 4 times. then in the morning my pimple has decreased in size by half!!

Benzoyl Peroxide
Clearasil, in my oppinion is the best pimple treatment. Works for me everytime time after time. Well good luck.
