i hear lots of good stuff about it
but i hear alot of bad.
ppl stop using it, then a few days later they break out worse than ever. once their skin is off the harsh medication its hard to be acne free.
for acne, you should use:
morning:
clean %26amp; clear morning burst [cleanser]
clean%26amp;clear cooling daily pore toner [toner]
a moisturizer with spf 15 or higher. i use olay complete
evening:
clean%26amp;clear oxygenating fizzing cleanser
[use every other day. switch with noxzema citrus scrub]
same toner as morning
moisturizer [doesnt have to have spf 15 cuhz you wont be in sun]
once a week use: queen helene's mint julep masque, also can be used for spot treatment
for spot treatment use: persa gel-10 or oxy lotion
to even out skin tone and for acne scars, use tea tree oil. also can be used for spot treatment. reduces redness and size
aloe vera juice reduces redness
ice reduce redness and size
baking soda is good exfoliant for blackheads
always have spf 15 or higher on ur acne before going into sun. sun darkens the pigment in the acne and can cause scarring, or make the scars darker
if ur going out, use green concealer over it cuhz it cancels out the red.Is proactiv the best treatment for acne? what are the pros and cons? what are other better treatments?
Well, it depends. How severe is it? I've tried it before and I found out, after it did NOTHING for me after a few weeks, that they have different levels that you can order, and basically, the version they show on TV (according to my dermatologist) is almost like water. If you have moderate to severe acne, then I would recommend getting something prescription (even a cleanser). Seeing a dermatologist is a real plus, because they just take one look and all of a sudden tell me what I need to do. But, if its just mild to minimal acne, it may be right for you. If you do order, or have ordered, a sample or a kit, ask about the other products they offer, they have a very large selection that might be able to help! =)
